Though I use L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique foundation in summers which are super amazing, still one needs a touch-up after 5-6 hours. For this, I rely on this Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake Foundation. Let us now discuss its pros and cons. Price Rs 575 My Experience with Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two-Way Cake Foundation Packaging The face powder comes in a cream-colored small cardboard box. The compact is two-way; the sponge is placed apart from the foundation. This way, the powder doesn’t smudge all over the compact. Texture The texture is satin and creamy in nature. It settles to a matte finish; thus, becoming a boon for oily skin people as well as a reliable option for this season. Shade I chose B2 Soft Honey which is medium fair. There are 6 shades available to choose from. Staying Power The overall effect stays for 4-5 hours whether or not you come in contact with the sun. Experience Well, because my skin is oily, I loved how this face powder performed since the day I bought it. Earlier I was using the compact by Lakme which was good but not suitable for my oily skin. After using this, I found less oil exposure on my skin. Also, SPF 32+ protected my skin from direct sun exposure. The foundation is creamy and very thin which makes the overall finish less dramatic and very natural. But it sometimes gets cakey. Also, it has to be used dry and not wet which is a big con here because I like to use face powder in wet form. But, yeah, I found no need of using it in wet form because of its overall natural finish. Overall Performance I loved the overall performance of Maybelline Two-Way Cake. It is best to fit for daily purpose and requires touch-up after 4 hours according to your skin type. And yes. It is not for dry skin people as your skin may become patchy. Also, say no to use it in wet form. Nicely pack. The Finishing ◼ Shine control - Yes. It really does the job like it said. My skin don't get oily during the day when applying this cake powder. I have normal skin type. ◼ Instant fairness - Yes. It work instantly. Rather that dry application, I love wet application more. It is like a better coverage with wet application for me. ◼ Visibly smooth complexion - Yes. And it is kinda lightweight too. Love that. ◼ Cover dark spots - Not really. When there is too much melanin production, dark spot may appear in your specific area of the skin. My prediction, it may works for minor dark spot. I have quite visible acne scar on my cheek kinda dark in color, and it still slightly visible after applying this face powder. ◼ Long lasting - Yes. Try wet application, and it is awesome. Recommended for those who have a dry skin, try this wet application. ◼ Conceal blemishes and pores - Doesn't really works for major problem. ◼ Tone perfecting - Yes. Agree on this. It blend so well with my skin tone. OVERALL It is quite okay for my skin. I love the lightweight effect and the instant fairness. It blend well and easy to wash off I just clean them using my normal foam cleanser. Tips for anyone who have quite visible acne scars like mine for example, you will need to apply concealer first, before applying this cake powder to hide the imperfections. Overall it is okay.
