You connect your HDMI cable to it, and then it to your tv. Basically, think of it as an HDMI pass through in a sense. The LED strip connects to the same box. The incoming signal is read and the box syncs the color output and position according to the signal. The box then outputs the signal to the tv and syncs the colors to the led strip.

Check the Light Sensor. The light sensor is a small, round device that sits on the rear of your television. The sensor measures how much light is hitting the screen and adjusts the brightness accordingly. If it isnโ€™t working properly, you will notice that your TV is darker than usual even when it is just in a room with normal lighting levels

Step 4: Insert Your New Backlight. Take your new CCFL and insert the lamp exactly where the old tube was located. Again, be gentle and this step will be easy. After inserting the new CCFL and routing the cables correctly, reassemble the LCD the same way you took it apart. In case the hotkeys are not working, try it as a combination with the Fn key ( Fn + F7, Fn + F3, and Fn + F4 ). But if you have a gaming model, use Fn with the up and down arrow keys. Check the keyboard light icon to identify yours. Some ASUS laptops even allow locking the function keys using the Fn + Esc hotkey.
This is not working for me on an ASUS ROG G401IU with Ubuntu 20.04. I tried with both acpi_osi= , acpi_osi=linux with and without acpi_backlight=vendor . When I reboot the computer, the keyboard backlight is off again.
